HELP Drum Patterns slightly off beat after re-organizing track slightly (SOLVED)

So, say this happens...

You're making a track and you apply the sampler or the audio clip to the mixer and it suddenly is OFFBEAT to the rest of the track or OFFBEAT to the metronome.

Well, consider this.  In the mixer track, there's a drop-down menu that allows you to offset the timing of each mixer track individually. Why? I don't know for sure but if you're having the problem I mentioned in the title, this is where I would look.

But, before I get to that, let's make sure other things aren't the cause.

  • Make sure on the playlist that your instruments are aligned precisely where you want them. You can use the marker/ pencil tool or the mouse wheel (ctrl+mouse) to align the patterns up exactly.
  • Make sure that in the piano roll of the pattern that your instrument's input is aligned correctly either in sync with the beat or in synch with the other notes within your song.
  • Lastly, make sure that in the channel settings of your instrument, the 'TIME' setting is at default or positioned to where you want the sample to be accurate for your song (Some people may automate the 'Time' settings to change the pitch or speed of the sample / instrument and that could cause unsyncopated delays)

Once all that is checked and accurate then you can be sure that it's the mixer that is causing your OFFBEAT problem.

So, what is the fix?

Simple.

In the mixer, select the track or tracks that have the delay. Look to its mixer settings for a drop-down menu that has a clock next to it. Yep. That's it! Just click the little arrow and reset it to 'NONE' and the audio in the track should be back on the beat with the metronome. If you assigned the metronome to a track, this works to solve the same issue.

Sometimes, life's answers are so simple...and sometimes we doze off with the mouse in our hand while working on tracks and click things that we're not supposed to click on.  I'm not saying that's what happened ...but that's what happened.

Stay real.
